Police arrest Nazareth man, 17, suspected of attempted rape
By Haaretz Service
Tags: Rape, Nazareth, Israel

Israel Police on Saturday arrested a 17-year-old man from Nazareth for attempted rape of a 22-year-old woman.

The suspect allegedly followed the woman as she was returning home late Friday night, and got in the building's elevator with her. He is then believed to have held a knife to her throat and attempted to rape her, but she managed to convince him to step inside her apartment with her.

When the two reached the woman's apartment, her screams for help awoke her family members.

The suspect escaped along with another man who was waiting for him outside the building, but police officers managed to chase and arrest the two suspects.
