Police arrest Hadera woman for allegedly threatening to kill son
By Haaretz Service
Tags: Hadera, Israel, Child Abuse

A woman from Hadera on Saturday allegedly threatened to kill her 5-year-old son in front of police officers who arrived at her home after receiving complaints from the neighbors.

The woman, 40, is said to have recently moved back in with her husband after the two had divorced. On Saturday, neighbors of the couple called the police and said they believed the woman had attacked her husband.

When officers arrived at the scene and requested that the woman be taken for further questioning, the woman allegedly grabbed her son and put a knife to his head while threatening to kill him.

The woman was subsequently arrested and taken for psychiatric evaluation. She will be brought in front of a Haifa Magistrate's Court judge later on Saturday for her remand to be extended.
