Trial begins for Berlin punks who set dogs on Jewish schoolboy
By DPA

Two punks went on trial Thursday, accused of an anti-Semitic attack on a Jewish schoolboy in Berlin.

The pair are alleged to have threatened and insulted five students from a Jewish high school and set their dogs on one of them.

One of the accused, aged 31, denied any involvement in the January 16 attack. The other, aged 27, refused to answer the charges.

The court heard evidence from a 16-year-old schoolboy who was forced to run for shelter in a bakery after being confronted by the two punks.

"One of the punks came at me with his two dogs and shouted 'attack, attack'," the schoolboy said. The boy was not injured in the incident.

The punks, who live on the street, have been in custody since the
attack. They are charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and insulting behaviour.

The trial resumes April 14
