Dutch legislator Geert Wilders (Reuters) Last update - 01:14 29/03/2008 Dutch MP's anti-Islam film shows clerics' calls to behead Jews By Cnaan Liphshiz, Haaretz Correspondent Tags: Fitna, Islam, Jews  The much-feared anti-Islam film that Dutch legislator Geert Wilders released Thursday night gives very high prominence to anti-Jewish preaching by Muslim clerics. The lawyer representing the umbrella group for Dutch Muslims said that at f Advertisement irst glance, the online film does not constitute an insult to their religion. The government, which had attempted to block the film, feared religious riots if the footage was deemed offensive. In keeping with Wilders' views on the existence of a strong partnership between Jews and Christians in the face of what he calls the threat of Islam, the film showed calls to kill Jews in at least five different places. The film reportedly received 1 million viewers in the first 30 minutes of its release. Anti-Jewish rhetoric that Wilders compiled to prove what he considers Islam's violent nature includes calls to behead Jews as well as an interview with a 3-year-old girl who quotes Allah's words through the Koran as calling the Jews "pigs and monkeys." The film, entitled "Fitna," also includes photos of demonstrators promising "another Holocaust" and praises for Hitler by Muslim demonstrators. Before the film's release, commentators feared that the popular Wilders - whom many Dutch people consider a provocative populist - would display material deliberately offensive to the Muslim religion. But Wilders, the head of the Party for Freedom, included mostly footage of religious sermons and Islamist suicide bombings, augmented by Dutch media archives.
