Last update - 11:51 27/03/2008 Police seize 63 kilos of hashish, guns in Givat Shmuel apartment By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent Tags: Givat Shmuel, guns, hashish  The police on Thursday arrested five people suspected of dealing in large quantities of illicit drugs and possession of weapons. The arrest was made after the narcotics squad of the central unit of the Tel Aviv District Police followed a tip and discovered 63 kilograms of hashish and five guns with silencers hidden in an apartment in the central Israel town of Givat Shmuel. Three of the suspects are residents of southern Israel, and two are residents of central Israel. Two of the suspects are considered central targets of the narcotics squad and their remand was expected to be extended Thursday at the Tel Aviv Magistrates Court. Advertisement This arrest is the second large scale drug bust in the span of a week. On Tuesday, police and Israel Defense Forces troops seized the largest shipment of pure heroin ever to be intercepted on the border with Lebanon, a total of 32.5 kilograms of pure heroin, worth some NIS 30 million.
