The Palmach Museum in Tel-Aviv is an experimental museum that covers the Palmach legacy - the regular fighting force of the Haganah, the unofficial army of the Jewish community during the British mandate period. The activities of the Palmach is told through the stories of individuals and groups. Visitors to the museum join the group of young Palmach recruits from its establishment in 1941, and advance through the story of the Palmach until the end of the War of Independence in 1948. The exhibit consists on an account of a personal story accompanied by films and documentary materials. The group of visitors evolves through a series of events that symbolize the Palmach team spirit. Advertisement The tour ends in the memorial hall for Palmach warriors who died fighting for the establishment of the state of Israel. Visits to the museum must be pre-arranged.
