gent called Thursday and said he needed to cancel because of shoulder
inflammation. Dates are being swapped for a possible rescheduled concert,
Mouser said.

"We are canceling the performance this weekend but are looking for another date with the hope of rescheduling as soon as possible," said Elizabeth Sobol, Perlman's manager.

Perlman, 62, is an Israeli-American violinist and conductor who has appeared with every major orchestra and has conducted many of them. He served as music adviser of the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra from 2002 to 2004, and lives in New York City.

He has won four Emmy awards for his television appearances, which include
Sesame Street, late-night talk shows and a recent documentary about his work with the educational Perlman Music Program.

His recordings have won 15 Grammy awards, and he was the violin soloist in the Oscar-winning movie Schindler's List. Last month, he won a Grammy Award for lifetime achievement.
