The Jordanian government on Friday rejected as "totally baseless" reports by certain newspapers and websites that Jordan supplied Lebanon's Future movement with arms and supervised their training.

oggerheads with the opposition, supported by Syria and Iran, over
the election of a new president and other political issues.

"The reports published by some newspapers and websites about Jordan's arming of elements belonging to the Future movement and supervising their training are totally baseless and pure concoction," Minister of State for Information Affairs and Communication Nasser Judeh said.

He said that the reports had the aim of "defaming Jordan and undermining its support for the brothers in Lebanon that seeks to help them forge national reconciliation and safeguard their country's security and stability."

Judeh did not mention the media that carried the reports, but reiterated Jordan's policy of "non-interference in the internal affairs of any state" and its call for dialogue among various Lebanese factions to resolve the ongoing crisis in the country.
