Clinton, Romney win Nevada caucuses
By The Associated Press

LAS VEGAS - Hillary Rodham Clinton won the Democratic caucuses in Nevada last night. Earlier yesterday, Mitt Romney won the Republican caucuses in Nevada, while John McCain and Mike Huckabee dueled in a hard-fought South Carolina primary, two races likely to winnow the crowded field of rivals in a wide-open contest.

Clinton meanwhile powered past Sen. Barack Obama in a hard-fought race marred by the last-minute charges of dirty politics. The victory marked the third-straight campaign triumph for Clinton, who gained an upset victory over Obama in the Jan. 8 New Hampshire primary and the largely uncontested Michigan primary last Tuesday.

On the Republican front, Romney said Republicans had cast their votes for change - and that he was the man to provide it.

"With a career spent turning around businesses, creating jobs and imposing fiscal discipline, I am ready to get my hands on Washington and turn it inside out," Romney said in a statement issued while he flew to Florida, site of the January 29 primary.

Romney's victory marked a second straight success for the former Massachusetts governor, coming after a first-place finish in the Michigan primary revived a faltering campaign. Nevada Republicans said the economy and illegal immigration were their top concerns, according to preliminary results from surveys of voters entering their caucuses.
