Gaza militants use heavy machine gun in bid to down IAF helicopters

Militant groups in the Gaza Strip have begun using heavy machine guns in their ongoing conflict with Israel, in an attempt to down Israel Air Force helicopters.

This is to counter the Israel Defense Forces' almost daily operations against Palestinians involved in cross-border rocket fire and other hostile activity, which have taken a heavy toll on the Gaza militants.

While militant groups in Gaza have managed to professionalize their activities against IDF ground forces, such as by routinely using anti-tank rockets, it is yet to be seen whether the Palestinian gunmen will be able to do so with reference to the IAF.
