The National Fraud Police Unit arrested the chief of a major fire department in the Galilee on Monday who intended to run for mayor on behalf of Arkady Gaydamak's party Social Justice.

The senior officer is suspected of fraud and corruption as he allegedly used government and municipal funds for his own personal use.
