Deepak Chopra to former IAF chief: Military strength is 'false god'

The teachings of Deepak Chopra have reached many Israelis, and as the New Age Guru arrived in Israel last week, one of the followers anxiously anticipating the meeting with him was Former Israel Air Force chief Eitan Ben Eliyahu.

The senior military figure studied hard ahead of the meeting and even prepared notes, hoping to get the most from his encounter with the man who transformed his world view in the past year.

But the former commander was not without his doubts on the guru's teachings, and challenged Chopra's wisdom when applied to conflict zones such as Israel.

Chopra said military strength is a "false god," and that Israel cannot win its battles until it addresses their causes.
