A senior official in the Industry, Trade and Labor Ministry was arrested Tuesday for allegedly receiving bribe from manpower companies in order to renew their revoked licenses.

Gabi Robas, an aide to the ministry's director-general, is suspected of receiving illegal fees from a mediator for renewing the license of manpower companies that were shut down due to administrative offences.

Police are to demand later on Tuesday that the Ramle Magistrates Court extend his remand, along with the remands of three other suspects which include the owner of the manpower company which paid the bribe.
