Palestinian Authority security forces have seen a marked improvement in security in Nablus since 300 police officers that underwent advanced training in Jericho were deployed to patrol the embattled West Bank city.

The deployment of the specially trained police force came as part of an agreement brokered between Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayad and is meant to combat armed militant groups operating in the city.
