(Reuters) del.icio.us Digg It!  new Last update - 09:26 29/11/2007 Palestinians: Two IAF strikes kill 4 Hamas militants in south Gaza By Haaretz Service and News Agencies Tags: IAF, Hamas, Palestinians  Four Hamas militants were killed overnight in two separate Israel Air Force strikes near the southern Gaza town of Khan Yunis, Palestinian security officials said early Thursday morning. The Israel Defense Forces said the first attack was on a group of armed men in combat vests moving near the border with Israel and the second was against two men trying to plant a bomb near the border fence. On Wednesday an IAF air strike on a Hamas security position killed two of the group's naval officers after Palestinians fired 20 mortar shells and two rockets into Israel, Palestinian medics and the IDF said. Advertisement At least 10 other people were wounded in that attack. The IDF said that one of the shells fired from Gaza on Wednesday hit the Israeli town of Kerem Shalom, causing damage to a structure there. Two other shells struck south of Kibbutz Erez and the fifth hit inside Palestinian territory next to the security fence in southern Gaza. There were no injuries reported in any of the incidents. On Tuesday, the IAF attacked a Hamas post in Khan Yunis, just hours after the conclusion of the Annapolis summit. The attack came after a day of mortar shells fired at Israel, with some landing near the Kerem Shalom community. Since the beginning of the week, 20 Palestinian militants have been killed in clashes with IDF forces in the Gaza Strip.
