Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev will be appointed over the coming days to the position of foreign press secretary for the Prime Minister's Office.

Regev will replace Colonel Miri Eisen, who is stepping down after a year and a half in her position. During her tenure, Eisen has become one of the most recognizable faces in the foreign communications network.

Regev is a senior diplomat who in the past served as spokesman for the Israeli embassy in Washington.

He will participate in the Annapolis peace conference as part of the Foreign Ministry's public relations delegation.

Following the summit, Regev is expected to move from the Foreign Ministry to the Prime Minister's Office.
