Two school security guards arrested on suspicion they molested girls
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

Two security guards at separate education facilities were arrested over the weekend on suspicion they molested young girls attending the respective institutions which they guarded.

The Lod police department recently received a complaint, filed by mother to a four-year-old girl, that the security guard at the kindergarten the girl attended had molested her. The suspect was arrested, and was recognized as a known criminal, though not for sex-related crimes. The suspect denies the allegations against him.

In a separate incident, a 65-year-old resident of the Sharon region was arrested on suspicion he molested a six-year-old girl attending the Ra'anana school where he was employed.

On Friday, the girl's mother noted that her daughter was walking alongside the security guard when she came to pick her up from school. The girl told her mother that the man had touched her, and consequently the mother filed a complaint with the school's principal and with the police.

The suspect's remand was extended on Friday. He too denies the allegations against him.
