16-year-old arrested on suspected of raping younger sister, 11
By Roni Heruti-Singer

A 16-year-old resident of Bat Yam was arrested on Saturday on suspicion of raping and sexually assaulting his sister, 11. The youth admitted to the suspicions against him.

The suspect was caught after another Bat Yam resident, who was walking down Rothchild Street in the city, noticed the teenager forcibly dragging a girl into a stairwell. The resident called police to the scene.

A juvenile crimes investigator was also called to the scene, and was told by the girl that her brother had been assaulting her for several weeks, but had not raped her until the latest assault, on Saturday.

The boy was arrested immediately, and he admitted while under investigation the he raped his sister.

The children's parents were called to the police station, where they told investigators that they had suspected "something was not alright between the children," but had not imagined such acts had been taking place.

The suspect will be brought for a remand extension on Sunday
