Prostitute found with serious stab wounds near Acre
By Jack Khoury, Haaretz Correspondent

A 35-year-old woman is receiving treatment Saturday for serious knife wounds after she was discovered lying by the entrance to the western Galilee village of J'deida, near the town of Acre. Police are familiar with the victim from her prior engagements with prostitution activities.

Dr. Ali Na'ama, the head of the "Hyan" medical clinic, said that concerned citizens had called the clinic in Kfar Yasif to report a woman seen lying naked near the main intersection outside the village.

Na'ama said an ambulance was dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel noticed serious head injuries and stab wounds in the chest. The victim was transported to hospital in Nahariya.

Galilee District police spokeswoman Superintendent Ronit Mualem said that investigators who arrived at the hospital to question her were unable to obtain a description of the attacker due to her serious medical condition. Police are searching for witnesses to the attack.
