The Shin Bet security service on Tuesday lifted a gag order on the June arrest of a woman who allegedly admitted during questioning that she had been recruited by the Hezbollah.

The woman, an Israeli Arab residing in the north, was arrested on June 30 upon her return to Israel from Jordan. An indictment outlining the charges against her was submitted to the Haifa District Court on Tuesday.

According to the indictment, the woman was approached while studying dentistry in Amman in 2003, by a fellow female student. She was told that as a member of the militant organization, she would be assisting in the transfer of cellular phones and memory cards from Jordan into Israel.

The indictment goes on to say that upon completing her studies, the suspect was given a portable device to transfer into the hands of Hezbollah operatives working in Israel and the territories. The transfer was never completed because no one came to pick the device up.

The suspect has visited Jordan several times since then, and has maintained contact with the woman who allegedly recruited her. She was arrested upon returning from her last visit.
