7 Palestinians killed by IDF over weekend
By Avi Issacharoff

The Israel Defense Forces killed seven Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and militants in Gaza launched four Qassam rockets at Israel in fighting this weekend.

Hamas, meanwhile, yesterday vowed to attack international troops deployed in Gaza like any other "occupation force."

Two Qassam rockets landed in Sderot yesterday evening. No casualties were reported. On Friday, two rockets struck the western Negev, causing no damage.

The Israel Air Force killed three Palestinians last night in a raid on a garage workshop in the Maghazi refugee camp, in the center of the Gaza Strip. The owner, Salah Fakah, 50, was killed along with his son, Eyad, 28. The third fatality was 40-year-old Samir Abu Muslam.

Several hours before the raid, the IAF struck a car carrying three Islamic Jihad operatives in Khan Yunis, in southern Gaza. All three were killed, including a senior Islamic Jihad militant, Ziad Ghanem, 43, and his 24-year-old nephew Riad Ghanem, whom was believed to be involved in preparing weapons.

The third casualty was Mohammed al-Ghai, 38, whom the defense establishment suspected of shooting an RPG missile at an IDF armored personnel carrier in May 2004, killing five soldiers.

On Friday, the IDF killed an 28-year-old Palestinian in the Balata refugee camp near Nablus. The IDF identified him as Hitham Salah, an Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades militant. He was shot dead after arriving by cab to a roadblock that the IDF had set up near Balata.

Yesterday, Hamas' military wing, Iz al-Din al-Qassam, warned foreign powers to stay away from the Gaza Strip, where Hamas staged a bloody coup earlier this month. Hamas' warning came in response to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' call for the deployment of an international force in Gaza.
