Police arrest 14-year-old on charges of sexual assault
By Jack Khoury, Haaretz Correspondent

Police have arrested a 14-year-old boy from Acre on suspicion that he sexually assaulted and carried out indecent acts against two of his neighbors, both 8 years old.

An Acre court will rule on extending the suspect's remand on Thursday.

The deputy head of the Acre police department stated that one of the victim's parents complained to the police after she noticed changes in her child's behavior. While being interviewed by the police, the child began describing abuse suffered at the hands of the suspect, and told police of a second victim, who police suspect was also abused by the suspect.

Based on the testimony of the two victims, the suspect was arrested.

Police investigations revealed that the suspect and the victims knew each other before the abuses allegedly occurred. Police believe the suspect used this familiarity to lure the victims into his house where he allegedly raped them.

Police are expected to examine whether the suspect carried out similar assaults on additional children.

The police have stated that both the victims and the suspect are from "normal" families.
