Israel Defense Forces troops on Thursday shot and killed a Palestinian gunman during an operation in Qalqilyah. During the operation, security personnel arrested at least ten wanted men.

The residents said the gunman was a member of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, an offshoot of Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction. He was killed during a heavy exchange of fire in the central West Bank town.

The gunman is the fourth Palestinian to be killed in the West Bank this month by IDF troops.

Also on Thursday, an Israeli civilian was lightly wounded after his car was hit by rocks outside of Nablus.
