Some 100 teachers protest teachers' union agreement with gov't
By Or Kashti, Haaretz Correspondent

Some 100 teachers on Monday protested outside the teachers' union headquarters building against the agreement it signed three weeks ago with the government.

Demonsrtrators claim the agreement is unsatisfactory.

"The compensation is small in comparison to the number of extra hours we now have to work," a protester said.

According to a teachers union poll, only 41 percent of the teachers believe the agreement will improve the status of teachers, while 50 percent said it will either have no effect or worsen their position.
