Police: Teenager allegedly killed two men, hundreds of cats
By Roni Singer Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

An 18-year-old Petah Tikva man was arrested three weeks ago on suspicion that he murdered two men and attempted to murder a third, police announced Thursday.

When police entered Rostislav Bogoslavski's house, they found it filled with cat carcasses. During questioning, police learned that the suspect would regularly catch street cats, kill and skin them and then cook and eat them.

Three weeks ago, police found the body of a 50-year-old man in a construction site in Petah Tikva. The man, who was known to police as a local alcoholic, had been stabbed to death.

As this was the second such murder in the past few months, police suspected that a serial killer was on the loose. A massive manhunt began, which led police to the home of Bogoslavski.

According to police, the suspect had committed the murders for no apparent reason while filming them on his cellular phone.

The suspect, who was recently released from the IDF due to mental problems, immigrated to Israel from the USSR with his parents when he was a child.

After his arrest, Bogoslavski was sent for psychological tests which concluded that he was able to stand trial. Police remanded Bogoslavski for an additional 12 days on Tuesday.

In February, the body of 68-year-old man was found stabbed to death after witnesses saw him drunk on the streets. This murder came two weeks after the attempted murder of a 32-year-old man on an adjacent street in Petah Tikva.

Police believe Bogoslavski is responsible for the three incidents
