The security cabinet met Wednesday in order to be briefed by National Security Council Chairman Ilan Mizrahi on the classified portions of the Winograd Committee's partial report on the Second Lebanon War.

In addition, they were also briefed by the Israel Defense Forces on the progress in correcting the army failures highlighted by the report.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert announced that the cabinet will meet regularly in order to discuss the security situation in the various sectors, as well as correcting the failures found by the committee in three areas: IDF decision making, the political echelon's decision making, and the relationship between the IDF and the political echelon.

These issues will also be examined by a special committee headed by former minister Amnon Lipkin-Shahak.

The participating ministers said they believe that the cabinet must act in a regular and continuous manner.
