Ramat Hasharon woman found dead in drug-related fatality
By Roni Singer-Haruti, Haaretz Correspondent

A 20-year-old woman was found dead on Tuesday in her Ramat Hasharon apartment after having a fatal reaction to unknown drugs. The woman's girlfriend, who took the same drugs, became seriously ill and was hospitalized in critical condition.

Police are looking into the possibility that the two women were either using cocaine that was laced with an unknown substance, or that they had overdosed from a "cocktail" of several drugs. While drugs were not found in the room, medics who arrived at the scene said that the incident was drug-related.

Over the past weekend, a 31-year-old Bat Yam resident died and two of his friends, a man and a woman, became seriously ill after using a mix of cocaine and ecstasy. Police suspect that the cocaine in this case was also laced with an unknown ingredient.

Last week, two party-goers from the "Oman 17" dance club in south Tel Aviv were seriously hurt after using an unknown narcotic, although police suspect that they may have merely overdosed on drugs and drank a large amount of alcohol.
