Petah Tikva teenager detained over murder of 50-year-old man
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

An 18-year-old Petah Tikva youth was detained Thursday morning on suspicion of involvement in the murder of a 50-year-old man in the city.

The man's body was found Thursday at a construction site.

At 7 A.M., a construction worker alerted police that he had found a body at the site on Broida Street.

Police sources arriving at the scene discovered the body of what appeared to be a man in his fifties who had sustained stab wounds during a violent confrontation.

The identity of the dead man is still undetermined, and police are investigating the possibility that he was homeless.

Investigators examining the crime scene received information leading them to believe the perpetrator to be a teenaged resident of the city.

The suspect will be brought Thursday for an extension of his remand.

The victim's body has been transferred to Abu Kabir Forensic Institute in Tel Aviv.
