Fire fighters put out massive blaze in Tel Aviv suburb of Azur
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent and Haaretz Service

Fire fighters on Friday evening put out a massive blaze that started at a horse farm in the industrial zone of the Tel Aviv suburb of Azur.

At least four fire engines rushed to the scene of the fire which burned several stories high. A pall of black smoke rose from the blaze and drifted in the direction of the neighboring city of Holon, witnesses said.

Several horses were killed in the fire and nearby factories were also affected, although the extent of the damage is not clear.

Police closed major artery Road 44 for an extended period, deeming it dangerously close to the flames.

The spectacle attracted hundreds of observers who were asked by police to disperse.
