Likud to launch 'go home' campaign in bid to force gov't to resign
By Mazal Mualem, Haaretz Correspondent

The Likud will launch a new campaign on Friday with the slogan "you've failed - go home" calling on the government to resign.

The Likud is planning to stage demonstrations under this slogan at major intersections across the country. The plan is part of the activist-oppositional strategy, led by Likud Chairman Benjamin Netanyahu, in efforts to take advantage of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's declining popularity in order to force his government to resign.

On Monday, in a meeting with senior Likud activists and branch heads, Netanyahu presented his short-term plan for field activism. The plan calls for Likud activists to gather at major intersections holding up signs bearing the new slogan and hand out stickers calling on the government to resign. In addition, Netanyahu himself, alongside other Likud members, will patrol the intersections.

In the past the Likud had refrained from any major activity in the field, because in their estimation there had not been a feasible opportunity to replace the government until now.
