Olmert, PA Chair Abbas to hold biweekly meeting on Sunday
By The Associated Press

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will meet again on Sunday, a spokeswoman for the prime minister confirmed on Wednesday.

The venue will be set later in the day, spokeswoman Miri Eisin said. Saeb Erekat, a confidant of Abbas, said the Palestinians invited Olmert to meet in the West Bank town of Jericho, but hadn't received a response.

Abbas and Olmert promised U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice last month to hold talks every two weeks.

The Palestinians are eager to head straight to the most intractable issues dividing the two sides, such as the final borders of a future Palestinian state, the status of disputed Jerusalem and Palestinian refugees' demands to reclaim land they fled or were driven from after Israel was established in 1948.

Olmert aides have said he would only talk to Abbas about security and humanitarian issues, as well as a general political horizon that they did not define.

Divisive issues could be addressed once Palestinians halt their rocket fire into Israel from Gaza and release abducted Israel Defense Forces soldier Gilad Shalit.
