Fire seriously damages headquarters of Jerusalem rabbinical courts
By Amiram Barkat, Haaretz Correspondent

A fire on Tuesday night caused serious damage to the administrative building of the Jerusalem-area rabbinical courts.

Initial investigations suggest that the fire started as a result of an electrical short in the system powering the building's computers.

An investigation by the fire department revealed that at 2:00 A.M. Tuesday morning there was a short in a circuit in the building's computer room, which caused the fire that then spread throughout the building, causing an estimated $500,000 in damage.

Sources from the rabbinical courts' management stated that although the building's computer system was destroyed, the court will continue to operate as usual and the computer system should be repaired within two weeks.
