Police to question Finance Minister Hirchson again in near future
By Yuval Yoaz, Haaretz Correspondent

A panel headed by Attorney General Menachem Mazuz decided Wednesday that police should question Finance Minister Abraham Hirchson on embezzlement allegations again in the near future.

Hirchson is suspected of embezzling NIS 10 million from the National Workers' Organization (NWO). The suspicions are based on documents collected over months of another investigation, into alleged fraud and misappropriation of funds from Nili, a Jewish youth organization, March of the Living and organizations connected to the NWO.

Police Investigations and Intelligence chief Yohanan Danino and the head of the investigation team for the case, Deputy Commissioner Yoav Sigalovich, on Wednesday updated Mazuz and State Prosecutor Eran Shendar on the progress of the investigation so far.

Deputy state prosecutor Shuki Lamberger and Tel Aviv District Attorney Ruth David also attended the discussion, which was held at the attorney general's office, along with the attorneys in charge of the case in the investigation team.

Mazuz was briefed on both investigations into Hirchson, including the one on which Hirchson was questioned on Tuesday, and decided the finance minister should be questioned again.

Justice Ministry spokespeople said that, "at this stage, with the investigation in progress, we cannot give further details."
