Safed post office employee shot dead during robbery of central branch
By Eli Ashkenazi, Haaretz Correspondent

A 40-year-old employee of a Safed post office branch was shot to death Tuesday evening during a robbery.

The incident occurred at around 18:30, when unidentified armed men entered the central post office branch in Safed and demanded money at gunpoint. The post office employees refused to hand over the cash, and one of them was shot in the head and critically wounded. The robbers managed to grab some money, and fled the scene.

Magen David Adom emergency medical services medics who were called to the site attempted to revive the wounded man, but their attempts were unsuccessful and they pronounced his death at the scene.
