The accident occurred when the two jeeps driving in front of the truck, slowed down in order to turn onto a dirt road. The truck hit one of the jeeps from behind, causing it to hit the second jeep in front of it.

Afula Fire Department rescuers pulled the injured out of the vehicles and ambulances from the Gilboa branch of Magen David Adom emergency medical services took them to Haemek Hospital in Afula.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident while a second victim, who was in critical condition, died shortly after.
