Police question Labor MK Marciano over nightclub brawl
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Service

Police have questioned MK Yoram Marciano over allegations that he attacked and threatened security guards at a nightclub, warning the Labor lawmaker that his testimony may be used against him in a possible future trial.

Marciano was questioned on Monday night in the Glilot police station, after two guards at the Rio nightclub in Herzliya filed a complaint alleging that he had attacked them, cursed them, spat on them, and threatened them.

Tel Aviv police made every effort to keep the Monday night interrogation under wraps, but acknowledged it in a statement released on Tuesday.

The head of the police Investigations and Intelligence Division, Major General Yohanon Danino, recently granted approval for the interrogation of Marciano, who has already publicly apologized to the guards for his behavior, but denies some of their allegations.

The police have a surveillance videotape of the incident, which police officials have said bears out the guards' version.
