2 youths killed in traffic accident in western Galilee
By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent and Haaretz Service

Two 18-year-old youths were killed in a traffic accident Sunday at the entrance to the village of Yirkah in the western Galilee.

Initial police investigations reveal that the youths were driving from the village to Route 70, between Kfar Yasif and Kibbutz Kabri.

The vehicle carrying them slipped, veered from the lane and struck an Egged bus coming from the opposite direction.

A Magen David Adom staff summoned to the scene determined their deaths at the scene. Investigations into the accident are continuing.

In another traffic accident Saturday morning, a 69-year-old pedestrian was killed in an accident between Holon and Beit Dagan.

Around 6:00 A.M., a taxi struck a pedestrian using a crosswalk under a traffic light at Tempo intersection.

A Magen David Adom staff that arrived at the scene determined his death. Initial investigations by Tel Aviv District Court indicate that the accident was caused by the violation of traffic regulations on the part of either the driver or the pedestrian.
