Secondary school teachers to strike in central region Sunday
By Or Kashti, Haaretz Correspondent

Middle school and high school teachers will hold a one-day strike in the center of the country Sunday to protest what they say are dragged-out negotiations with the Finance Ministry over a new collective labor agreement.

The strike will apply to grades 7-12 in the central region.

Classes in Dan region schools won't be disrupted.

Over the last few weeks, the Secondary School Teachers Association has disrupted classes across the country due to the dispute. On Thursday, the teachers held a strike in all secondary schools in the Haifa area.

The secondary school teachers will not participate in any class trips or extracurricular activities, will not work with students with learning disabilities or provide extra help in preparation for matriculation exams until further notice.
