Gaydamak questioned on suspected bribery of PM bureau chief
By Jonathan Lis, Haaretz Correspondent

Police on Monday questioned Russian-born Israeli businessman Arcadi Gaydamak on suspicion of giving Shula Zaken, the Prime Minister's suspended bureau chief, free season tickets to Betar Jerusalem soccer matches.

Police are seeking to establish whether Gaydamak, as the team owner, was involved in offering Zaken the tickets and whether Zaken obtained the tickets for free.

The suspicions arose after detectives who searched Zaken's home as part of the investigation into Tax Authority officials, found three tickets to Betar Jerusalem matches.

The questioning of Gaydamak was cut short after he told detectives he had to attend a private function. He was instructed to return and complete his testimony Tuesday morning.
