IDF soldier, three Israelis lightly hurt at Bil'in anti-fence protest

An Israel Defense Forces soldiers and three Israeli protesters were lightly injured Friday during a demonstration against the West Bank separation fence near Bil'in.

The soldier was injured by stones thrown by the demonstrators, as hundreds of Israeli, Palestinian, and left-wing activists protested against construction of the fence.

The IDF declared the area a closed military area, and soldiers used riot-control means and fired tear gas at the stone-throwers.

According to the demonstrators, one of them suffered head injuries after he was beaten with a rifle by a member of the security forces.

The protestors claim the fence in the area is being built on land that belongs to Bil'in, and will cut of the village's residents from their lands. Residents of the village and left-wing Israeli activists hold protests in the area every Friday
