Victims' rights group joins battle of Tair Rada's parents
By Eli Ashkenazi, Haaretz Editorial

A victims' rights group has asked State Prosecutor Eran Shendar for representatives of the family of murdered Katzrin teen Tair Rada to be given access to the investigation material.

Two weeks ago Tair's parents, Shmuel and Ilana Rada, met together with their lawyers, Moshe and Shira Meroz, with representatives of the northern district State Prosecutor's Office, but they did not receive the material.

A representative of the association, Le'an, said "this is an unusual request, which is the beginning of a struggle for a "declaration of victims rights," which the association would like to establish.

"The investigative material is not secret and was transfered to the lawyer of the accused," Le'an's director, Tamara Mor, said. We would like to petition the High Court of Justice if the prosecutor continues to refuse to allow Le'an's private investigator to view the material."
