By Roni Singer-Heruti, Haaretz Correspondent

Police on Monday arrested a man suspected of having intentionally run over a policeman in Taibeh earlier on Monday. The officer was moderately hurt in the incident.

During his interrogation, the 22-year-old Taibeh resident confessed to the crime.

Police continues to search for another Taibeh resident who was in the car at the time of the incident, which took place at a roadblock at the entrance to the town.

According to police, the 25-year-old officer, Kais Natour, was hit while motioning for the car to pull over.

The two men fled the scene immediately after crashing into the policeman.

Natour was taken to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva with a fractured skull and is receiving medical treatment.
