Police find body of 18-year-old girl missing since Monday
By Jack Khoury, Haaretz Correspondent

Police on Wednesday found the body of 18-year-old Yuvalim resident Ma'ayan Ben-Horin, who was missing since Monday.

Ben-Horin's body was found after extensive police searches between the towns of Yodfat and Hararit, not far from where she was last seen.

Police believe the girl was murdered, and a gag order was issued regarding the details of the case. Acre Magistrate's Court Vice President Rahamim Tzemach, who issued the order, wrote: "It appears, according to the police request, that this is a case of premeditated murder.

According to her family, Ben-Horin left her school in Kibbutz Alonim on Monday afternoon, and hitched a ride along with one of the school's teachers. Her father, Avri Ben-Horin, said his daughter was dropped off at the Arab village of Kawkab Abu Al-Hija, where she purchased cigarettes at approximately 1:30 P.M.

Her father also said Ben-Horin was supposed to meet a woman at a farm near the town of Yodfat, but never arrived. At roughly 2:20 P.M., her father said, Ben-Horin spoke with a friend on her cellular phone. The father said the conversation was short and ended abruptly.

According to her cellular phone records, following that conversation there were no additional outgoing or incoming calls.
