Israeli teenager Ben Sahar makes full Chelsea debut in 6-1 romp
By Haaretz Sports Staff and Agencies

Israeli striker Ben Sahar made his full Chelsea debut Saturday, in his team's 6-1 demolition of Macclesfield Town in the FA Cup.

After the game, Sahar spoke to Israeli Internet site One, where he described how "the entire crowd was chanting 'Sahar! Sahar!' It's an incredible feeling. Incredible."

The 17-year-old Holon native, who moved from Hapoel Tel Aviv to Chelsea in May last year, added that he "wasn't nervous at all. I was playing alongside some of the best players in the world, and I didn't have any butterflies. I know that I have a long way to go, but I hope to get a lot more time in the senior team. I know I have a lot of hard work ahead of me if I want to prove that today was just the start."

Elsewhere, Arsenal knocked out holders Liverpool, as two sweetly-struck goals by Tomas Rosicky and a late Thierry Henry breakaway secured a 3-1 third round victory at Anfield.

The Czech midfielder drove in shots after 37 and 45 minutes and, after Dirk Kuyt raised home hopes in the 71st, Henry completed the win against a team who have not lost a league game at home since October 2005.

Earlier, top-flight strugglers Charlton Athletic and Sheffield United were dispatched by third division sides as Nottingham Forest beat the Londoners 2-0 and Swansea City won 3-0 in Sheffield.

There were no such problems for Chelsea, however, as a Frank Lampard hat-trick helped them thump Macclesfield 6-1.
