Court orders media to give police all material on Katzrin murder
By Eli Ashkenazi, Haaretz Correspondent

The Magistrate's Court in Acre has agreed to a police request and ordered a number of media outlets to hand over to investigators stories published or aired to date in connection with the murder of Tair Rada in the Golan Heights town of Katzrin.

The police is asking that the main television stations, Channels 1, 2 and 10, as well as the Haaretz, Yedioth Aharonoth and Maariv dailies, and the Russian-language newspaper Vesti, hand over all items relating to the murder at a local school since December 6, the date when the incident occurred.

Apparently the request is linked to an attempt by the police to pinpoint information that could have been seen or heard by the suspect in the murder, Roman Zadorov, in news reports.

During the remand hearings on Friday, defense attorney David Spiegel asked about the details relevant to the murder that the police claim only the murderer could have known, and which detectives say emerged during Zadorov's interrogation. The police maintain that there is still information that did not appear in the press that Zadorov knew about.

Spiegel said on Sunday that a check of the reports is insufficient. "There were many rumors in Katzrin after the murder. The school has 800 pupils, and the emergency services were at the scene of the crime; not everything was checked."
