Legendary Israeli soccer goalie Yaakov Khodorov dies at 79

Yaakov Khodorov, a legendary soccer goal-keeper for the Israeli national team, died on Sunday at age 79.

Khodorov, a winner of the Israel Prize, the nation's highest civilian award, played 31 games for the national all-star team in international competition.

At the height of his career, which spanned the 1950s and early 1960s, he was ranked among the finest goal-keepers in the world.

He excelled in matches played against the former Soviet Union, Wales and Yugoslavia.
