Last update - 10:35 24/12/2006 Israeli Yoram Elal, major Ecstasy dealer, arrested in Brazil By DPA An Israeli believed to be the world's biggest dealer of ecstasy was arrested Saturday on a beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazilian police announced. Yoram Elal, 35, offered no resistance when was nabbed in the city's fashionable Ipanema district while walking on the beach. According to the arrest warrant, he is wanted in the United States, Israel, Brazil and Uruguay. The arrest was the result of coordination among authorities of the four countries, a Rio police spokesman said. Advertisement According to the United States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Elal is wanted for Conspiracy to commit extortion, interference with commerce by threats of violence, conspiracy to commit money laundering, transporting monetary instruments for the purpose of laundering money, and Money laundering. His last known address before his flight was on Yehuda Hayamit Street in Jaffa. The DEA had listed Elal as armed and dangerous, and instructed citizens not to attempt to apprehend him.
