Young boy moderately injured by bus in Ashkelon

A six-year-old boy was moderately injured Sunday morning after being struck by a bus in Ashkelon, Army Radio reported.

According to the radio, the boy was hit by the vehicle after running across the road. He was taken to the Barzili Medical Center in the city for treatment.

Five bus passengers were also injured in the incident due to the sudden braking of the vehicle.

Three people were killed over the weekend in traffic accidents across the country. In addition, 126 people were injured including three seriously.

A pedestrian was killed by a passing car Saturday night while crossing the road at the Yosephtal interchange on the Ayalon Highway.

Earlier Saturday, a motorcyclist who lost control of his bike crashed into an electricity pole in Bat Yam. Paramedics who arrived at the scene declared him dead.

On Friday, a truck driver was killed after straying from his lane and crashing into the median on the coastal highway near Netanya.
