Poll: Third of Israelis see no common denominator with Diaspora
By Haaretz Service

An opinion poll released on Monday showed that one out of three Israeli Jews believes that there is no common denominator between the Jews of Israel and those of the Diaspora, Israel Radio reported.

The poll also showed that only a fifth of Israeli Jews believe that the state of Israel constitutes a common factor of identification to the entire Jewish people.

The poll was conducted by the Marketwatch institute for the Diaspora Museum.

It showed further that 43 percent of Israeli Jews believe that Jewish tradition and rituals such as marriage, bar mitzvah and circumcision, create a common denominator between Jews in Israel and those of the Diaspora.
