Two activists, Border Policemen hurt in Bil'in anti-fence protest
By Itim

Two protesters and border police officers were wounded on Friday in clashes at an anti-separation fence demonstration near the West Bank village of Bil'in, the Itim news agency reported.

The protesters suffered light to moderate wounds after a stun grenade went off next to them while the border police officers sustained light leg wounds when they were hit by stones thrown by demonstrators.

Some 350 anti-fence activists, including Mohammed Barakeh and Dov Khenin (Hadash), and MKs Jamal Zahalka (Balad), participated in the weekly demonstration, which has become a fixture in their efforts to stop Israel from erecting the barrier they claim infringes on Palestinian rights.

Barakeh condemned the border police for firing rubber-coated bullets at the demonstrators and deplored their "violence and aggression."
